- Character was born and bred in the Midwest, former track star whose body and spirit have gone somewhat to seed. Traumatized by a particularly gruesome recent case, K-MART drinks to cope and barely functions in his everyday life despite being one of the top detectives in the precinct.
MIKE ORTIZ
- Mexican-American
- Male
- Age: 20s
- Series Regular
- Character was raised in the Midwest. Speaks English and Spanish. A plainclothes tactical & SWAT officer who is partnered with Erin “Oz” Ostrowski. Wise-ass, competent and athletic. ORTIZ is a playboy; he loves the badge bunnies and they love him back. He’s a potential witness in a botched warrant search, making him persona non grata amongst the other rank and file.
LISA MATICHAK (MATTY)

- Midwestern. A patrol officer partnered with Darryl Andrews. Poster girl for midwestern grit, a non-cynic in a sea of cynics. Matty is a mother to an autistic son. She is sunshine in a uniform, most days you don’t know how she can be smiling through the day. Her friendship with Andrews is quiet, sincere and deep.

- Character was raised in the Midwest. Andre is a rookie cop, a go-getter and wants to be the best he can be but socially awkward and impatient. Grew up in tough circumstances, his younger brother’s criminal associations cause him grief on the job.

- Character had a Midwestern farm upbringing. Plainclothes tactical & SWAT all-star, Ortiz’s partner and best friend. Former college athlete with a temper and a willingness to take on anyone and anything in the streets. While she presents as more level-headed than her partner, Ortiz, she’s equally capable of the crazy.

- Andre Quick’s training officer. He’s “retired-on-duty” – burned out, angry at a world that’s angry at him. But somewhere deep beneath the resentment there’s a cop in there, with wisdom to share.

- Born and raised in Haiti, moved to The States around 2011. Lisa Matichak’s partner, Andrews is a block of a man, a quiet giant. A true confidante and safe place for Matty, he is the reserve to her pep. His actions speak louder than his words. Like many first generation immigrants, he’s tight lipped about the chaos that brought him to America.

- Character is the Chief of the Joliet Police Department. He’s brought in Milk to help with the administration of the precinct, but a recent set of scandals has left him grappling with an unruly bunch of officers. One of Milk’s friends since high school, Kaluza can be jocular but on the whole is a straight shooter and a no bullshit kind of guy.

- Character was raised in the Midwest. A rookie patrol officer on the overnight shift, Suze is already fed up and discouraged by the job. We meet her on the verge of a breakdown, but first impressions can be deceiving.
MARY GILLESPIE

- Age: 40s
- Series Regular
- She is Milk’s ex-wife and Talia’s mother. Confident but self-deprecating. She and Milk have been apart for a long time and she’s been a strong single mom. She has moved on with her life and raised a beautiful daughter basically on her own, though there is an undercurrent of will they/won’t they with Milk. A damn fine attorney, she is independent, funny, and probably the woman you fell in love with in college.
TALIA MILKOVICH

- Female
- Age: 18+ to play 16
- Series Regular
- The daughter of Milk and Mary, emotionally bruised by her father’s absence in her childhood, she’s both introverted and right on the edge of wild…and is now expected to find space for her dad.
