• LOOKING FOR A QUIRKY YET SPECIAL ACTOR FOR HALLELUJAH. Hallelujah is an odd black boy who has an addiction to books, so much so that he can’t help but steal them. From bookstores, libraries, etc. A quietly serious, yet boldly outspoken book worm, he has a dry sense of humor, quick wit and does not worry or even really notice about how different everyone sees him in his neighborhood in Compton. With aviator googles, book in hand, he has a genius level of recall and quotes books all the time. Especially now, after the death of his parents has left him to face life primarily on his own. So now, with more natural wisdom than his wayward caregiving uncles, he struggles under the weight of his loss, while taking care of his baby sister. But books. Books are his saving grace. He knows all of them and can imitate all the characters. Books also keep him close to Mom and Dad. They instilled in him a love of literature.
