• Mae is a 14 y/o tomboy who has grown up on a ranch with an abusive Father and 2 younger brothers. She’s tough and can fight. She’s grown up around all boys and her father makes her fight. MUST be able to throw some punches. Think if Hillary Swank was 14 y/o in Million Dollar Baby and/or a younger Chloe Grace Moritz. Will have a set teacher.

Storyline: Set on the Western frontier, this true story follows a young woman who yearns for a life beyond her harsh reality. Raised by an abusive alcoholic father, Mae Hayes harbors deep resentment as his negligence causes the management of their ranch to fall squarely on her shoulders. Life has taught her not to trust men, but a kind neighbor begins to slowly but surely chip away at her walls. Similar to 1883, this gritty female led storyline is reminiscent of The Quick and the Dead with strong romance like Redeeming Love and Tombstone’s gunslinging action.
