CASTING FOR NIKE VIDEO
March 4th, 2025 | casting call
Runner
- Female
- Character Breakdown: It’s 11 am on a Sunday as an 11-year-old hits record on her latest vlog post. She’s joined by her co-star/best friend as they sort through their latest clothing haul in her Miami home. It was a rough week at school. There’s this growing impatience with the world that she can’t seem to shake. She wants others to see her as she sees herself—as an adult. Even though this vlog post was her friend’s idea, strangely she’s feeling more and more like herself with each pose and laugh. She likes exploring her identity through her clothing, and finds herself drawn to more sophisticated, more boundary-pushing pieces. Putting self-consciousness aside, her confidence grows as she speaks her mind to her subscribers. She’s finding her voice and feels ready to use it.
Mom
- Female
- Age 38-42
- Character Breakdown: Athletic, 41-year-old mother of 2. She runs four times a week and is currently training for a half-marathon. Ideally the real-life mother of Runner Girl (10-12).
Tennis Player
- Female
- Age 18-22
- Character Breakdown: A 19-year-old semi-pro tennis player walks alone on a pristine, unoccupied tennis court in Shanghai. As she paces outside the lines, her mind is focused on the match that will happen inside the lines later that day. On paper, she’s no match for her next opponent. But she’s planning on using that overconfidence to her advantage. She’s been an underdog her whole life, and she relishes the role. As she visualizes the match, she focuses on the weaknesses she’s uncovered in her opponent from weeks of studying film. She may be a relative unknown now, but after today, that all changes.
Basketball Player
- Male
- Age 19-23
- Character Breakdown: It’s Thursday morning as a 20-year–old point guard walks the perimeter of an empty basketball court in upstate New York. Tonight, the first round of his conference tournament kicks off. He woke up anxious, so he came in early to get his mind right. It’s been an impressive season, but he knows none of that matters if his team can’t take care of business and punch their ticket to Division II March Madness. They’ve already beat this team twice, but he’s learned the hard way that there are no guarantees in life. So, he slowly breathes in and out, visualizing success over and over. Because he knows if he gets out of his own head and just plays like he has all season, no defender can stop him.
Elite Runner (30-40mi/week)
- Female
- Age 20-23
- Character Breakdown: Running has been an everyday habit for Samantha since middle school. She’s embraced the sport even when it didn’t feel like the sport embraced her. Now a few years out of college, her habits have remained consistent, running three to five times a week. She knows that she over-pronates, she’s always been told as much, but she’s never understood how that relegates her to be othered. She’s a runner, and she runs how she runs, and she wants people to see that and know that first. Especially given that she can runner faster, longer, better than the rest of ‘em out there.
Long-Distance Runner (30-40mi/week)
- Female
- Age 20-27
- Character Breakdown: The 24-year-old has only been running for the past two years, but it’s absolutely become an unstoppable obsession. She has run every stretch of road in her city, and now finds herself in a largely empty industrial area. In the past she’s struggled with form, but she conquered that. Now she has her sights set on a new audacious PR, focusing on all the small details (nutrition, gear) to help her make leaps where others take steps. She’s running straight down the middle of the road—she knows that she can handle anything that comes her way.
